The SCAR has been designed to meet the specific needs of the United States Special Operations Command (SOCOM), the U.S. Army Special Operations Command.

In France we find SCAR within the RAID and the COS.RAID comes in two versions, the SCAR-L (for Light) called Mk-16 by the United States Armed Forces and the SCAR-H (for Heavy) (Mk-17).

This new FN Herstal licensed airsoft replica (laser marking on the body) is the L version of the SCAR cél. It has a very clean finish with a metal (upper) and polymere (lower) design. It has a folding stock, picatinny rails on the front and top of the receiver, and an ambidextrous firing mechanism.
